Amanda with Sunflower Paint-by-Number Kit

“Being American is more than a pride we inherit,

It’s the past we step into and how we repair it.”

From The Hill We Climb, by Amanda Gorman

At the age of 22 Amanda Gorman became the youngest known poet to speak at a presidential inauguration. Her words of unity and reconciliation inspired a nation. Her work focuses on issues of oppression, race, and feminism. Raised by a single mother in Los Angeles, Amanda credits music and oration with helping her to overcome a speech impediment that hindered her from giving voice to her words. Amanda has said that she plans to run for president herself in 2036.

This is a fantastic modern spin on the vintage paint-by-number kit. I love that the backgrounds are printed-in as this adds a depth and sophistication unmatched in the early kits. Makes a terrific gift.

This paint-by-number kit features the first ever National Youth Poet Laureate, Amanda Gorman, with a yellow sunflower in her hair. The pre-printed, full-color background is a solid green.

Completing the painting can take between 3-5 hours.

Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Contents: (1) 8x10 artist-quality, un-mounted canvas with pre-printed background, (8) American-made, non-toxic, acrylic paints, (2) Princeton brush paintbrushes, instructions
