Celebrating the fertility of Spring - gardening and thriving together in growth.
“The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul.” - Alfred Austin
Land worked with indigo masters Buaisou to hand make each flag using a traditional technique called “Jigoku date” (producing hell). This is the most difficult dye to produce in the world. This Indigo dye becomes a deep, beautiful color that does not run like other dyes. With a tip of the hat to Hans Christian Andersen.
Size: 34" x 34". Limited Edition.
House of Land is the physical manifestation of the Austin, Texas based studio, Land.
Land is a new vision of creative expression - exploring the interplay between Art, Design and Idealism. Land's mission is to cross-pollinate Art and design while paying deep respect to the history of human symbolism, art, history and the veneration of plants and of the Earth.
